Trick Magic Item allows you to make a relevant skill check (like Religion for divine items) to use a magic item even if you can’t cast spells from that tradition. This is very build dependent so it’s not a must have. For Int-based crafters, this isn’t anything special. Their worth is entirely dependent on how often you plan to use snares. Remember how I keep saying only spellcasters can craft wands and scrolls? On a critical failure you incorrectly identify the item as doing something else.  from natural 1’s on the check. So it’s not the end of the world. But that’s a lot of investment for little gain. Optimally you would do both, but not all crafters want to specialize that much. So a 6th level character crafting a 4th level item only needs 2 days. Moving a rune to another item costs 10% of the rune’s price, while copying from a Runestone is free. The major limitation here is that these cannot be illegal moves. You no longer have to keep the same sword for your entire career and sometimes you might grab runes off looted armor instead of selling it. At some point you may be able to craft items that you can’t actually use, especially once you have access to the Craft Anything feat at higher levels. It essentially doubles your number of vials each day and number of formulas known. Some Property runes also have Greater and Major versions.  - A staff can hold multiple spells related to a theme, like fire or healing. Because it requires Expert proficiency, most characters won’t be able to access the feat until 4th level. If you trust your players not to flood the market or abuse the system, using this rule from the Playtest will encourage players to craft more often and allow you to insert shorter downtime periods throughout the campaign.
