Tempo Storm Wild Hearthstone Meta Snapshot #77 -- March 3, 2021. Reno Demon Hunter has seen some really meager success. Check out this list: Hearthstone Meta Tier List. If youre looking for completely new decks, then Control Tickatus Warlock and OTK Warrior are performing better than expected, while Silas Mill Druid and Secret Hunter havent lived up to the hype. While it played a higher, more midrange-ish curve before, its now transformed into a full-fledged Aggro deck with plenty of one drops, refills, and finishers like Leeroy Jenkins or Twin Slice. Rogue has finally gotten new, viable options that actually have potential. Other Rogue decks have tinkered around with mainly the Voracious Reader engine, but havent achieved much success. As with so many other fast decks, you add Zephrys and Reno to shore up your performance against Aggro, and they work particularly well in Secret Mage. That means two Kabal Crystal Runners, two Fireballs, two Medivhs Valets. However, lots of the other stuff are up in the air. Artosis Face Hunter Hearthstone Classic. Although Rexxar is not as good as it was before, its still more than possible to simply play out your game and then start hitting the Zombeast button when you start to hit a wall. However, it turns out that the payoff of the pure cards arent all that good in Wild, and it might just be better to include Molten Giant and Thekal for the occasional highroll and more. Odd Paladin is the garbage-proof for the class so that it never suffers from a gruesome fate like that of Hunter. An interesting development has been the Flame Imp cut for other self-damage cards like Rain of Fire or a mini-Discard package to react to aggressive boards better. With players substituting YShaarj for sticky taunts, the deck is has a much better balance against offense and defense. The only saving grace for Even Shaman is the recent meta shift towards more aggro, something Thrall welcomes with open arms. Nevertheless, Odd Paladin is a very strong option for laddering, as its performance never falls too low even for unexperienced pilots. Its a very sticky and undoubtedly powerful minion that also acts as a late-game powerhouse; however, it doesnt solve Handbuffs weakness to silence effect. By bumping up the mana cost or making him deal less damage per Inspire trigger, the Priest at least wont be able to kill from 30 and the damage ceiling might be lowered just enough so slower decks can win without playing a Grizzled Wizard combo. Click on the name of the archetype in each tier to expand more details about the deck. This specific strength makes Discard one of the best aggro decks into slow control, and allows it to run other aggro decks out of steam. Hearthstone Classic Mode launched today with Patch 20.0, the Mode that brings us back to 2014the time before expansions and stats websites! Couple up with good board combat cards like Speaker Gidra Serpentshrine Portal, and Molten Blast, Odd Shaman looks like a fun alternative to established Shaman decks should you grow bored of them. The deck that actually gotten new stuff though, is good ol Control Warlock. Replicatron is a really annoying minion, especially when buffed and magnetized on. Demon Hunter has always been a hyper aggro class, and with cards like Acrobatics printed, its just cemented this position even more. Its minions trickle down one by one, and the best Thrall can do is making them a tad stickier (that is, if they stick). Palm Reading and Insight are such powerful tools that they immediately go into every slow Priest decks. Compared to Priest, Big Shaman is only slightly better against Aggro, while worse against everything else. Odd Rogue is an aggressive-midrange deck that gets its name from playing only odd-costed cards. As Odd Rogue relies on its weapon more than ever now, Big Priest and Big Shaman can really give it a hard time on ladder. A major strength of Galaxy Mage is how well it fares against Reno Priest. Malygos Druid is a combo deck that revolves around cheating Malygos onto the board and dealing overwhelming damage to the opponent. Discard Warlock still has a respectable presence as one of the most consistent Midrange decks out there. The big problem with Handbuff is that the minions are pretty garbage when not buffed. Handbuff Paladin emerges to solve this problem by spreading the buff over to different utility minions, so they are way less susceptible to Silence. If you dont enjoy Cubelock, you can always play Renolock. The deck is like a scuffed Big Priest, but Big Priest itself is pretty strong. It was in fact a winner of the Darkglare nerf. Their Twitters are to be listed at the end of the report. Fringe decks that can succeed in the right meta, but are either suboptimal or outdated. Odd Warrior handles Aggro very well, Bomb Warrior and Galakrond Warrior slay Reno decks, Pirate Warrior can hand justice to Quest Mages. After a long absence, fan-favorite Reno Warlock is finally back on the menu. It has three decks that function somewhat the same, target the same set of classes, and lose to the same kind of counters. Without access to cards that can corrupt the Carnival Clowns, this deck can run out of fuel quickly. The deck can fill the board really quickly and end the game with board buffs like Power of the Wild and Savage Roar. Players still have mixed opinions about Sphere of Sapience, and it hasnt become a staple in the deck. Decks that play Enhanced Dreadlord and/or Doomguard are better fits for Archwitch Willow. Hey friends. Combo Reno Priest is one of the most iconic decks in Wild Hearthstone. You can always go more all in and play Shadowsteps and Edwin van Cleef, but youre trading a ton of consistency for arguably not that much gain in highroll. Galaxy Reno Mage is a bit clunky into the faster portion of the meta, but is otherwise a pretty well-rounded deck. Brann also works remarkably well with Pen Flinger, Glaivebound Adept, and Loatheb. Odd Rogue and Even Shaman find it a bit harder to dominate the early game when Wandmaker and Wand Thief contest the board. Tempo Galakrond Warrior, as the name suggests, is a midrange deck that wins by outtempoing the opponent in the mid-game. Beware of Paladins, though. Evocation is one of the best cards in the deck, and the fact its still being played at 2 mana says a lot about its power level. Or if you want the middle-ground between the two while still retaining the possiblity of randomly hitting people for 20 damage, a Midrange Paladin with the Thekal/Giant + Lorekeeper/Holy Wrath package might be a good pick. However, the main difference between Priest (and to an extend, Rogue) and the other classes in this group is that these other classes usually possess a few relatively strong decks instead of one top contender. In addition, the deck also runs Highlander cards to gain access to extra burn, board clears, and health gain. Insight is just a very solid draw card in general. Watch out for Big Priests though. Its a deck with lots of potentials. And it can shut down Reno decks just as well! Big Priest is a beatdown Control-esque deck that relies on cheating out their few huge minions in the deck using Shadow Essence, then reviving them with cards like Resurrect and Eternal Servitude. Bomb Warrior is only especially good against Reno Priest and somewhat good against Reno Mage, but struggle a lot more versus Reno Warlock who can put up taunts. Once again, Even Shaman shows up consistently but unspectacularly. Greedy decklists play Expired Merchant for extra Guldans or Nzoths. It covers the initial meta of Forged in the Barrens , while we all hotly await potential balance Evocation being 2 mana means Mage is less likely to win against Aggro though, which puts it among the likes of Togwaggle Druid and Linecracker Druid, combo decks that cant deal with fast decks effectively. Polkelt has breathed a new life into the class and brought back the Aggro playstyle that used to be Rexxars trademark. It struggles against itself. With the draw power from Acrobatics and Stiltstepper, Odd Demon Hunter is able to play a much lower curve and win much more often in the early game. Even if it does, the Control deck can often keep itself healthy and try to heal up after a Holy Wrath hit. Take the Polkelt nerf for example. We are teaming up with Hearthstone-Decks to provide you the most accurate Wild report possible. Aggro Druid becomes a bit weaker with the Voracious Reader change, but the card is now a possible inclusion in decks like Odd Demon Hunter. The deck plays Tickatus (which can be corrupted easily after discounted) with Felosophy for end-game milling. The Wild veteran is back, crippled and a bit woozy. Cubelock cant really play Tickatus, however, and hasnt received much if at all in the past couple of expansions. Handbuff Paladin emerges to solve this problem by spreading the buff over to different utility minions, so they are way less susceptible to Silence. It can also solidify its early game better than Odd Demon Hunter if you hit a good Pirate hand, either with Cannon or with Parachute Brigade. Nerfs to cards like Polkelt would barely scrap the surface, as they would only affect Reno Priest in insignificant ways. The deck also struggles to take back board control after early turns, being solely reliant on direct damage, a plan that can be easily stopped by taunts, life gain, and decks that go wide. Aggro Druid is one of the few true Aggro deck of the meta, and is a deck you can play when youre not sure which deck to play. Darkglare Warlock is still faster than many Aggro decks and can counter Control decks very well, which is why Nerubar Weblord is still a premium tech choice in decks like Aggro Druid or Even Shaman. Other slow decks like Druids, Big Priest, and Cubelocks are much happier dealing with a consistent stream of tokens than direct damage (Odd Rogue, Kingsbane Rogue) or Turn 1 blowouts (Aggro Druid). Classic Rise of Shadows Saviors of Uldum Descent of Dragons Galakrond's Awakening Ashes of Outland Scholomance Academy Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Forged in the Barrens Card Back Gallery Card Tooltips Decks Hot Standard Decks Hot Wild Decks Hot Classic Decks Hot Budget Decks Demon Hunter Druid Hunter Mage Paladin Priest Rogue Shaman Warlock It cant even reliably beat Reno Priest, as they can actually burn through your armor with a combination of Spawn of Shadows, Seance, and Pen Flinger. In this meta report, we will be going through a tier list of 58 decks weve seen frequently on ladder, explain the method of computing the tier list, break down the meta and analyze the decks as detailed as they need to be. Molten Blast and Serpentshrine Portal both work tremendously well as board control tools and direct damage, and theyre excellent follow up to early drops like Tunnel Trogg. With cards like Rigged Faire Game, Sayge, Seer of Darkmoon, and Occult Conjurer, the deck has finally started to feel like it has amassed the proper amount of cards to support a highlander build. Odd Shaman is an aggressive-midrange deck thatgets its name from playing only odd-costed cards. Either you clear the board by then, or you die a horrible death. Mech Hunter uses Voracious Reader and Chopshop Copter to refill. Warriors like to target as few things as possible, and its hard to counter the meta when there are too many decks being played. Hobgoblin Zoo Warlock, or Cutelock, takes advantage of all the 0-cost minions that can be easily refilled using Voracious Reader or Raise Dead. On good to great hands, even Reno Priests have trouble keeping up with Aggro Druid. Same old story: Darkglare Warlock, Reno Priest, and the rest. However, as surprising as it might sound, the Brann nerf might not be a nerf after all. Meanwhile, Murloc Paladin doesnt struggle against Control, or even Aggro. We havent been able to gather lists after the Polkelt nerf, but feel free to sub him out for something else. Shuffle Rogue is one of the most exciting archetypes to come out of Darkmoon Faire. The deck is much more consistent than before, and its not a long way off from standing toe-to-toe with the well-established Even Shaman. Reno Time Warp Mage has gained a few more cheap spell generators from Scholomance in the form of Wandmaker and Wand Thief. Cutelock is well, cute, but its not very effective. As Corsair Cache now only increases weapon durability by 1 without boosting the attack, the Pirate Warrior isnt as good at controlling the board early on anymore, while losing out on plenty of damage. Employing a Pirate package, its curve is naturally low enough to cycle with Acrobatics and Stiltstepper. The best Hearthstone Classic decks By Luci Kelemen 25 March 2021 Hearthstone's Classic format has finally launched, so it's time to revisit its best archetypes from 2014. Right now, it can target slow Control decks with its ability to churn out damage and close out games, something that Bomb Warrior isnt particularly good at. It's hard to advocate for a deck that is unfavored against the top two decks in the meta, Tempo Rogue and Control Warrior. The deck employs a Nzoth package on top of a decent removal toolkit, but it lacks a win condition akin to Bloodreaver Guldan or Shadowreaper Anduin. While Big Shaman can be lacking somewhat in the long game, it has the potential to explode onto the board like no other deck. Although its now nerfed and barely sees play, we think that its way too underrated. Reno Warlock is a Highlander deck that relies on not having duplicate cards to activate power spikes such as Reno Jackson, Kazakus, and Zephrys the Great. Powered by Baku the Mooneaters Start of Game effect, the Paladin can summon two 1/1 recruits at any stage in the game. It is capable of beating Reno Priest and Darkglare Warlock, although how the matchups play out depends heavily on tech cards employed by the enemy. For Meta Ranking analysis, we allocate points to each deck from Tier 0 to Tier 3 then sum them up. While this might be true, Polkelt makes it so the Hunters always get access to Dinotamer Brann and Leeroy Jenkins after their initial pressure phase. Welcome to the sixth Edition of Team WildSides Wild Meta Snapshot for 2020! Discard Warlock is an extremely solid deck that refills its handreallywell. Though Big Priest isnt the best matchup in the world, it pushes key counter decks like Odd Rogue and Bomb Warrior out of the meta, leaving only Malygos Druid and Galakrond Warrior left as consistent counters. Darkglare helps you get on board and helps you recover lost tempo, just not to the insane degree as before. Odd Hunter is a very good deck for bullying Mages and Warlocks, and its surprisingly not that bad against other Aggro too, with all the new cards designed for early board control. Popularized after the introduction of Shadowreaper Anduin, Combo Reno Priest assembles its combo by reducing its hero power to 0 with Raza the Chained and combining it with many cheap cards. Its a shame that one of the best cards in the deck (Dreadlords Bite) was nerfed before it could see the light of day, but the deck is still exciting nonetheless. Dirty Rat is the only counterplay to OTKs. Secret Passage and Cutting Class provide the deck with some much-needed refill after such a strong early game. Midrange Highlander Hunter isnt half bad, however. Go to Top Decks Or see our budget decks ! The Standard Hearthstone meta is surprisingly well balanced currently, with the majority of decks feeling as if they have a similar power level! This gives the Paladin an incredibly consistent board presence that synergizes with cards like Quartermaster, Warhorse Trainer, and Steward of Darkshire. Like Time Warp Mage, the deck is designed to beat decks that are slower than itself. Jan 23 2021. Odd Shaman is a very real thing, proven by a fair number of pilots who have reached high legend with it. Odd Rogue has received no new cards this expansion, with the only semi-viable inclusion Ticket Master being a gimmick at most. Not only it can step outside the shadows of its once oppressive cousin, it also inherited Darkglare to fuel its early turns. The day Odd Warrior is given a crazy late-game win condition is the day it takes over the meta. Its a decent deck against Aggro but not to the point choosing it over other anti-aggro decks is a no-brainer. People have talked about how Cagematch Custodian would improve Even Shaman, but the reality is it just makes the deck weaker in the early game. Therefore, a class can be placed highly on the Ranking system based on one (or both) of these elements: having a few strong decks (deck power) or having many decks (class diversity). It also plays plenty of draws like Secret Passage, Swindle, and Myras Unstable Portal to comfortably fish for end game damage. The deck has enough stall and disruption to win odd games, but we wouldnt consider it a worry-free option for laddering. Big taunts, healing, AND not a Reno deck? It has an edge against Big Priest in head-to-head, though: Sylvanas Windrunner swings the board exceptionally well when theres only a big minion on the other side. While Libram Paladin is really consistent against faster deck, it needs to hit Polkelt and Holy Wrath to have a chance against Reno Priest and Cube Warlocks. Warriors like to target as few things as possible, and its hard to counter the meta when there are too many decks being played. Stiltstepper is 4 extra damage more often than not. A diverse meta is not a good meta for Garrosh. With a more solid early game, Aggro decks have to be even faster to consistently beat Time Warp Mage, and not many can do this as easily as Aggro Druid does. The deck has the best board-generation Hero Power in the game, and is the best Hero Power for Tour Guide across all game modes. In this matchup, the most common way for the mage to win is by chaining multiple copies of Loatheb by using Brann Bronzebeard, Zola the Gorgon, Barista Lynchen, or Potion of Illusion. Other slow decks like Druids and Cubelocks are much happier dealing with a consistent stream of tokens than direct damage (Odd Rogue, Kingsbane Rogue) or Turn 1 blowouts (Aggro Druid). Malygos Druid didnt gain anything new apart from the tide of the meta. Galakrond Warrior has already played a good Dragon in Scion of Ruin, early game Pirates, and good Mechs for a Bomb package, so slotting Ringmaster Whatley for additional draw feels like a no brainer. Mage is now the top class to beat, but Priest has the strongest performer. Tier 2. Odd Rogue is superior to Reno Priest when facing them head-on. Jaina has made an incredible comeback, a massive leap from rank 5th to 1st. A diverse meta is not a good meta for Garrosh. Therefore, things like Odd Paladin and Aggro Druid can bully it consistently. Mech Hunter and Beast Hunter are the remaining Aggro decks of the class. Prime Quest Warlock Deck 16 spells, 14 minions meta standard full-guide quest control dr. 12,220. With non-Highlander Control Warlock, the traditional demon cheating route is still the tried-and-true option. Popularized after the introduction of Shadowreaper Anduin, Combo Reno Priest assembles its combo by reducing its hero power to 0 with Raza the Chained and combining it with many cheap cards. This isnt anything unexpected; as the meta gets faster and more developed, slow decks need to be much more resilient to reach their win conditions. The class has received arguably the biggest mass of playable cards in Wild, yet only pre-nerf Secret Passage seemed particularly important. Alternatively, you can just play the pure Ilgynoth OTK version, but its not as good in Wild. Tempo Storm Wild Hearthstone Meta Snapshot #72 - December 22, 2020. Discard Warlock was never weak, but its definition of unfairness felt like childs play compared to Darkglare Warlock. If the game only requires straightforward send-everything-face kind of stuff, then Demon Hunter can still do it very well. January 20, 2020: Updated for the post 2nd nerf Descent of Dragons meta. The nerf to Corsair Cache means that its no longer worth playing in Galakrond Warrior, at least not over Forge of Souls. The deck has the ability to both tutor secrets and deal direct damage, while Aluneth provides a way to constantly keep up the pressure and close out games. An abundance of stall, board clears, and draw, coupled with a consistent win condition and an extremely compact burst package (Spawn of Shadows) makes it hard for many decks to counter the Priest, even ones designed to beat it. Not a good look. the bottom two classes are a distance away from the others, and from viability in general. In the past, the deck has often relied too much on constant stream of damage to finish the job, but with the introduction of Wicked Whispers, it has more way to blow the opponent out of the water very early on. Priest is one of the most boring classes for many players, and with the lack of new deck currently displayed, it doesnt seem like this will change anytime soon. Aggro Rogue already had a fairly solid core before the expansion, and the Foxy Fraud + Ediwn package just allowed it to be even more explosive and consistent in the early game. One-eyed Cheat acts as a perma-stealth Pirate that activates various synergies in the deck. The full Menagerie version with Baton was largely a failure, but Ringmaster Whatley is still worth a slot for its powerful refill potential. Jade Druid is just slow and clunky, especially after Guardian Animals is nerfed. Stickyfinger in Reno Priest, Gluttonous Ooze in Reno Warlock, or even a Righteous Protector can completely shut down the Rogue, but the Rogue can just draw well and steamroll over the opponent. An early Tour Guide can certainly chuck in some serious damage while allowing the Rogue to develop a board with tried-and-true minions like Hench Clan Thug. The deck has an exciting prospect, and its interesting to see how it will flourish in the future. ETC OTK Warrior is a super cool deck with a surprisingly consistent win condition. He reorders your deck so your Holy Wrath alwayshits Shirvallah or Molten Giant. Make sure to not mindlessly play the card on Turn 4 though, and envision your plays a few turns ahead. Although Reno Priest is still the strongest deck on ladder, its playrate is far from the whopping 30% weve seen during the Darkglare meta. HOW TO USE THE META SNAPSHOT This tier list shows the best decks to play in Ranked mode to maximize the chances of winning the game and climbing the ladder. Kingsbane Rogue used to play a Mill package with Coldlight Oracle, but after the nerf to Leeching Poison, it has switched to an early aggressive Pirate package. Oh My Yogg seems like a must, though. The recent balance changes have made a small but noticeable impact on the meta. Rogue is a specialist class. The highlights are probably more than worth it, at least. However, with Vulpera Toxinblade and Deadly Poison, Odd Rogue is still a consistent choice for a fast legend climb. Powered by Baku the Mooneaters Start of Game effect, the rogue gains access to a 2/2 weapon at any stage in the game. Its not often we see an aggro or midrange deck maintaining a hand-size of 7 to 10 cards until it draws its whole deck on turn 8. Reno Secret Mage hovers around the top of Tier 2 for now, as it cant find that little bit of extra power to sneak into Tier 1. Cube Warlocks, Pocket Galaxy Mage, and Highlander Priests make up a significant portion of the meta. A much faster version of Reno Hunter branched off and became the beacon of hope for the class. Its playrate on ladder is too low to properly judge the power level after nerf, so we might have to pull it further down the drain going forward. Youd be disappointed when you play Aluneth hoping to fish for some burn, and then draw Apexis Smuggler and Reno the Relicologist. In many cases, you need to treat Darkglare turns as more a huge pressure turn that should be followed up by another high pressure turn rather than the winning turn. For example, if Odd Paladin is High Tier 1 and has a multiplier of 12, it will bring the class an additional 216 points. The "Archetype Explanation" section gives a general explanation of the archetype as a whole. Replicatron is a really annoying minion, especially when buffed and magnetized on. So what we propose is to dismantle Reno Priests burst engineSpawn of Shadows. Now that Time Warp Mage reigns again, theres even more reason to play Odd Paladin. Sayge, Seer of Darkmoon has given the deck even more card draw and feels like Aluneth on a body but without the weakness of continuing to draw and losing to fatigue damage. Already a deck with more defensive capabilities and staying power than Secret Mage, the Highlander version got offered even more synergistic cards to ensure its consistency, especially in the early game against other fast decks. The deck capitalises on its flood of totems in the mid-game with cards like Splitting Axe, Draenei Totemcarver, and The Storm Bringer. Hearthstones Classic mode has finally arrived, and while it might feel familiar if you have been playing since 2014, newer players could find the changes jarring. Speaking of performance not matching playrate Odd Shaman is here to prove that its nothing to sniff at. It aims to seize the board with early cards like Risky Skipper and Bloodboil Brute and hold out until the opponent dies from taking bomb damage. Check out this new tournament sponsored by our team at Team WildSide. This is where the now-nerfed Darkglare comes in. Time Warp Mage is back and is bullying Priests more often than ever. The author didnt add any Information to his profile yet. Lets leave it at that. Well, almost. If you dont feel like you can bash the opponent in the head fast enough, you can always put Mechathun in your deck and turn your Tier 2 deck into a Tier 3 meme. Its not like an 8-mana Guardian Animals is an attractive proposition over Undatakah, right? We cant say the same about all the other Hunter decks, though. Galaxy Reno Mage is a proactive control deck that relies on not having duplicate cards to activate power spikes such as Reno Jackson, Reno the Relicologist, Kazakus, and Zephrys the Great. If you dont think Evolve Shaman is an attractive enough option, you might want to know that theres an achievement for Revolving 14 minions. HOT! The deck was exceptionally bad because it was out-tempoed by both Kingsbane Rogue and Darkglare Warlock. With Time Warp Mage out of the meta, Galaxy Reno Mage finds much needed breathing space to dunk on other lighter Reno decks. Togwaggle Druid and Linecracker Druid are even slower and less reliable, and their win condition sometimes doesnt win the game. Were the Wildhearths team, a group of top Legend players in the Wild format who have decided to create our own meta snapshot. It gains tempo on board and locks out the opponents key tempo or board clear turns. The fall of Bomb Warrior is pre-determined. Nevertheless, Odd Paladin is a very strong option for laddering, as its performance never falls too low even for unexperienced pilots. In the damage output department, Demon Hunter has also made significant progress. If you see these decks, Murloc Paladin is a much better option; however, it kinda sucks against Aggro. This is the latest Tempo Storm Wild Hearthstone Meta Snapshot. Furthermore, its not like you cant add value into an aggro deck in the age of Death Knights. Libram Paladin is legit, but it might not be the deck you think it is. Aggro Druid is a typical Aggro deck that aims to win very early on by playing very cheap and efficient minions. Since Darkglare only returns 1 mana when you damage yourself, all self-damage cards are now 1 mana so they can be played for free. Tempo Storm Wild Hearthstone Meta Snapshot Tier List. Therefore, Secret Hunter can be a very good deck versus other Aggro, but cant hold its own versus decks that spend time setting up like. The highroll does get a bit weaker, but sometimes you can get online faster against Aggro. The deck also struggles to take back board control after early turns, being solely reliant on direct damage, a plan that can be easily stopped by taunts, life gain, and decks that go wide. On top of this, it naturally plays counter cards like Nerubar Weblord and Cult Neophyte without sacrificing early game power (although many have cut these for cards like Intrepid Initiate after Darkglare is gone). Its not a good meta for a slow high-value midrange deck, though, as combo decks like Reno Priest and Malygos Druid are rampant, Big Priest wont ever let you through, and Control Warrior scattering like swatted flies. The ability to cheat out Scrapyard Colossus and YShaarj, Rage Unbound, in conjunction with an efficient removal package, makes Big Shaman a very strong performer against aggro decks. Make sure to scroll down to read the latest discussion on the deck's current role in the meta.
